Data and privacy

Special category

Genetic data is a special category of data (GDPR, art. 9). It requires the client’s explicit consent, collected by the professional with CESGEN’s information sheet; it includes a specific tick box for the use of AI support tools.

Who is who

The professional is the controller of their clients’ data. CESGEN acts as processor for the study, under the agreement, and knows only the sample code. If the professional uses an AI assistant, that assistant’s provider processes data on the professional’s behalf: a professional plan, a review of its terms and turning off the use of conversations for training are advisable.

What the system receives

Only the file with the sample code. Never the name, ID number, date of birth or consent form.

Where the data is

Today, in the assistant the professional chooses, under its terms. With DNAGPT, the file is processed on the professional’s computer; CESGEN’s knowledge connector receives no genotypes or profiles.

What DNAGPT does not do

It does not store client files, build profiles, sell data or use it to train models. Any aggregated use of interactions (never of genetic data) would require separate, revocable consent, and does not exist today.

Retention and deletion

The practice keeps its copy of the file under its own policy; CESGEN deletes its copy after delivery, within the timescales of the agreement. Conversations with the assistant are deleted when no longer needed.
